Hill walking is your own responsibility

Walking and hill-walking in Snowdonia carry real risks. Weather on the tops can change quickly and is often very different from the valley. Paths can be rough, exposed, or hard to follow in poor visibility.

Nothing on this site is a substitute for proper preparation. Before you set out, check the Met Office mountain weather forecast, carry and know how to use a map and compass, and be ready to turn back if conditions or your group are not up to it. You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone walking with you.

If in doubt, seek qualified instruction or guidance. In an emergency in the hills, call 999, ask for the police, then Mountain Rescue.
